When we talk about disigning, there are three facts that an architect must consider while designing, these three aspects are: the needs of the people, structural needs and the context. But he also must have in mind that some of these facts are constantly changing.
People's needs are those about what people care, and it is divided into three areas:
-Physiological needs, like air, light, water, heat, oxigen. And how the architect can design a space that contains these things properly.
-Psychological needs, are about what people feel in an specific space, a design must give a sense of security, privacy but also a sense of being welcomed.
-Sociological needs, providing interaction between people.
Structural needs are:
-Protection, from the weather and from the exterior.
-Weight, the building must stand up by its own.
-Comfort, in all areas, and depending on which area we are in the building we must feel confortable, and free to do what's supposed to do.
-Flow, it's about in how people and material enter and leaves the building.
Context needs are:
-Culture, it means that an architect must consider people's culture. You can't design a Chinese style house for a Venezuelan guy.
-Environment, the building must work in harmony with everything that sorrounds it.
-Connections, the building must be connected with the outside and with the inside also.
-Economic, with the needs.
-Flexible, it's got to be able to change in the same way the need's change.
